Summary Edit

Allen, Lavi and Kanda continue their search for the Leaf of Revival, which they assume to be the Innocence. After realizing it is Innocence after all, the three Level 2 akuma attack to retrieve it from them.

Lenalee is seen at the black order head quarters, just waking up with her brother Komui coming to her. The situation reminds Lenalee of the first day Komui had come to the order, she then learns from him that Allen was off on a another assignment.

Allen is then seen on Lavi's back getting back on his own feet soon after. They get out of the snowstorm and get into a remote cabin where Allen is taken care of. Kanda berates Allen for being unable to defeat an akuma and then reveals that Michael, Kanda's finder, was not with him, as Kanda had left him behind. Michael then enters the cabin immediately after and was questioned by Kanda if there were any Akuma near by, which Michael told him that there weren't. Kanda figured that they were going ahead and had decided to go on with Lavi volunteering to go with him. Elda and her father, Frey, who are looking for the leaf, had wanted to go as well, but the notion of that was dismissed as Allen pointed out that it was far too dark for them to go out. Lavi and Kanda then leave the cabin, being closely followed by the three Akuma who had attacked them previously. Allen explains that Frey's entire venture for the leaf of revival was futile as it was more then likely innocence and explains that it could not bring his son back to life. Elda then wakes up from her dream about the day her brother died, and soon finds that her father was gone, going out to find the leaf himself. Allen, Michael and Elda had decided to go search for them.

Kanda and Lavi are then seen, nearby a cave, and Lavi uses his abilities as an exorcist to clear the snowstorm, revealing that his innocence allows him to control nature. They go inside the cave unaware that Frey is closely behind.

While in the cave Lavi and Kanda find a strange tree growing from it, being lighted as if by the sun, even though the moon was still shining. Kanda had tried to grab the leaf and so did Frey, after revealing himself to the exorcists, but both are unable to get through the barrier the tree possesses, causing Frey to be knocked out. Using their exorcist abilities Lavi and Kanda are able to cut the tree down, causing its leaves to turn from green to brown, as well as finding the innocence at the center of the tree. Frey wanting to bring his son back tries to take the innocence away from him but Kanda, becoming very annoyed, tells him that the innocence can not bring his son back to life, with Lavi confirming it as well. Lavi then explains a probable reason why the tree caused the snow storm, as too many people were picking its leaves and possibly causing it to die.

Kanda, Lavi and Frey then leave the cave where they are ambushed by the three level 2 Akuma. Kanda and Lavi are able to fight off two of the level to Akumas easily but the female then absorbs the two into herself in order to become stronger, having the abilities of all of her comrades. While fighting Frey grabs Kanda, demanding he give him the innocence. Lavi's legs are then frozen and while Kanda was unable to break free from Frey's hold, the Akuma was able to freeze the bottom half of him. Allen then appears and is able to free both Lavi and Kanda. With the combined efforts Lavi, Kanda and Alle were able to destroy the Akuma, leaving a giant crater in the snow. Frey continues to beg Kanda, to give him the inncocence wanting things to go back to the way before the fire. Elda then comes and tell her that she doesn't believe in the leaf but wanted to help her father anyway she could. Allen helps Frey realize his mistake in forgetting his own daughter. Kanda decides to take the innocence back to the order, Allen and Lavi decide to get out of there as well and Elda and her father decide to go back and pay Elda's mother a visit. The noah, who was charged with finding the innocence looks on at the moment and begins to charge, with purple lighting going around his body. He is however interrupted by Road who tell him that he must come back per Millenium Earl's orders, as well as revealing that his name was Skinn.

Allen is then seen at the train station talking with Elda and warns her about the Millenium Earl as he may use her brother's death to make him into an akuma. Her father comforts her and tells them not to worry, as he will cherish the people who are still living. Allen and the rest of the group leaves on the train and while Allen and Michael were sleeping Lavi draws on his face, telling Bookman he wasn't sure how of his opinion of Allen just yet.
