Allen engages the Level Two Akuma with his partially formed Innocence even as it changes its shape, firing countless bars of light.
These bars bury the Akuma and stack on top of one another, but the Akuma slips away, sliding around beneath the sand as it taunts Allen, taking the form of sand in order to avoid being hit.
Allen goes to fire again, but the Level Two strikes at Allen with its malformed trident-like copy of Allen’s Cross, forcing Allen to dodge. The Akuma takes advantage of Allen’s movement and comes up in front of him, swallowing him within its sand-like body. It then begins stabbing its stomach repeatedly, wondering how many hits it will take before Allen dies.
Allen, though, blocks with his cannon-form Innocence and breaks the Akuma’s spear-like fingers. As Allen’s Innocence directs him on what to do, Allen reforms his Innocence further so a bar-like blade emerges from the mouth.
With this blade, Allen cuts the Level Two in half, forcing it to shed the skin of sand it is wearing and making it vulnerable.
Reforming his Innocence again, Allen aims his Cross’ cannon-form at the Akuma and fires. The Akuma blocks with its Cross copy arm, but Allen remembers Guzol’s words and his love for Lala, declaring that he won’t forgive the Akuma.
The Akuma’s arm starts to break apart to its astonishment, and it screams out as it questions how it can lose when it and Allen have the same arm.
Kanda, thinking to himself, rationalizes that it’s simply because the Akuma has reached its limit, and that Allen is the only one who can wield the Cross as its Accommodator.
Suddenly, Allen coughs up blood and his arm desynchronizes as the backlash of using his too-new arm hits him.
The Akuma takes advantage of this and attacks, but Kanda blocks with Mugen and protects Allen.
Kanda then berates Allen for deciding to protect Lala and Guzol and not having enough power to do it, saying he hates people who don’t keep promises even more than he hates the tender-hearted.
Allen jokingly notes that Kanda hates him, then assures Kanda that he was just taking a break.
Kanda notes that Allen is annoying, then cuts off the Akuma’s fake Cross arm as Allen forms his cannon again and blows the Akuma to shreds, both Exorcists demanding that the Akuma “turns to dust”.
